Patent 257![]() Method for treating valgus deformity of the proximal femur. MD 257 dated 25.08.10. The invention relates to medicine, specifically traumatology and orthopedics, and can be applied for treating valgus deformity of the proximal femur in children. The essence of the invention lies in performing a preoperative X-ray examination to determine the angle between the femoral neck and its shaft, then determining the angle required to correct the deformity. A 2–3 cm skin incision is made on the lateral side of the thigh, muscles are moved aside to the bone, periosteum is removed in the intertrochanteric region, and a transverse wedge osteotomy of 2/3 of the femoral shaft diameter is performed using an osteotome, with the base directed laterally. The necessary angle between the femoral neck and shaft is formed to correct the deformity. An auto- or allograft bone transplant is placed in the osteotomy gap. The bone is fixed laterally with a plate bent at the formed angle and secured with screws in the femoral neck and shaft. The wound is then sutured in layers. |
Patent 77![]() Device for treating scoliotic deformities of the spine in children. MD 77 dated 30.09.09. The invention relates to medical technology, specifically medical equipment used in traumatology and orthopedics for treating scoliotic deformities of the spine. The essence of the invention is that the device includes two parallel guide rods with vertebra fixation elements and rod tightening elements mounted on them. Each tightening element has a tightening bolt with threaded ends; the middle section is hexagonal, with a left-hand thread at one end and a right-hand thread at the other, which fixes the rods via coupling nuts. Each vertebra fixation element consists of a cylindrical-headed screw with a curved cutout on its side to hold the rod, a screw head with a smaller threaded end with a slot, and a cylindrical bushing with two curved cutouts at a 45° angle to its axis and a nut to tighten the bushing. The vertebra fixation elements can slide along the rods. |
Patent 66![]() Method for treating dysplastic processes of the lumbosacral region in children. MD 66 dated 31.08.09. The invention relates to medicine, specifically orthopedics and vertebrology, and can be used for treating dysplastic processes in the lumbar and sacral spine regions in children. The essence is administering intramuscular injections in the paravertebral regions: Traumel S 2.2 ml daily, Zeel P 2.2 ml every other day, and Discus Compositum 2.2 ml every other day. Additionally, spinal traction and manual therapy are performed daily. Traction is done with the patient lying on their back on a device with transverse ribs oriented upwards toward the head and downward toward the feet, for 45 minutes twice a day. Manual therapy consists of two stages: the first involves movements to relax muscles and tendons of the lumbosacral region during inspiration; the second stage involves spinal mobilization movements lasting 45 minutes. The treatment course lasts 10 days. |
Patent 7![]() Device for correcting scoliotic deformities of the spine. MD 7 dated 31.03.09. The invention relates to medical equipment, specifically an orthopedic device used for correcting scoliotic spinal deformities. The essence lies in that the device contains an extension bolt with threaded ends; the middle portion is hexagonal, with a left-hand thread at one end and a right-hand thread at the other. Each threaded end has a nut screwed on, which rigidly fixes a hook. The extension bolt can have a diameter of 4 to 8 mm. |
Patent 3697![]() Method for treating intervertebral disc dysplasia through posterior transpedicular access. MD 3697 dated 30.09.08. The invention relates to medicine, specifically neurosurgery, vertebrology, traumatology, and orthopedics, and can be applied to treat patients with intervertebral disc dysplasia. The essence involves performing a radiologic exam to determine the angle between the vertebra’s longitudinal axis and the pedicle’s longitudinal axis, then performing surgery with the patient prone with a 20–30° rotation to the dorsal decubitus position on the opposite side. A transverse incision is made in the paravertebral region for access to one or multiple intervertebral discs. The superficial back muscle fascia is incised, muscles are moved aside without cutting, and the corresponding vertebral pedicle is localized and mobilized. Based on the established angle, a screw equal in diameter to a pre-prepared implant is introduced through the pedicle into the intervertebral disc, along the pedicle’s axis at 5–20° from the vertebral axis and pointed upward at 10° from the pedicle axis. Intraoperative radiologic control verifies the screw’s direction; then the screw is removed, and the implant is placed in the created channel. The wound is sutured in layers. The implant can be made of bone, titanium, or ceramic. |
Patent 3698![]() Method for treating intervertebral disc dysplasia in children. MD 3698 dated 30.09.08. The invention relates to medicine, specifically neurosurgery, vertebrology, traumatology, and orthopedics, and can be used to treat intervertebral disc dysplasia in children. The essence is performing surgery with the patient prone, rotated 20–30° to the dorsal decubitus position on the opposite side, then making a transverse incision in the paravertebral region. The superficial back muscle fascia is incised, muscles are moved aside without cutting, and the affected disc is localized. After mobilizing it from ligaments on both sides, a titanium device consisting of two plates joined in a T shape is inserted transversely through the posterior part of the disc. The longer plate is 4–6 mm thick with a cutting edge on its free end. The other plate has a hole at each end. After insertion, the free end of the longer plate is cut at the vertebral body level, and the device is fixed with screws through the holes to the vertebral bodies. The wound is sutured in layers. |
